Day 36: Cafe Mueller

Tonight we went to Cafe Mueller in Midland (12 William St)- we were all a bit hesitant as Midland is such a trek.. but it was well worth it! The cafe looks like an old home that is painted bright red and green, it is decked out in the most weird and wonderful antiques and nick nacks, food was tasty German cuisine, the owner -Karl was eccentric and wonderful and took us behind the scenes to see his art studio while he wound a hand powered light (don’t ask!).. Definitely the most unusual and alternative cafe I had been to- we absolutely loved it! And did I mention mains were only $14 and no charge for corkage? Food included crusty home made bread with fennel, chicken soup, pork schnitzel and potato salad and dessert was black forest ice cream.. every meal was delish- hardest thing was finding room to fit it all in!

Today I am wearing a mismatch of colours which includes a second hand cardigan that I picked up ages ago in an op-shop and have never been able to give away, which seems quite fitting given the atmosphere of Cafe Mueller..
